Building a lake house sparks ideas: big porches, picture windows, breezeways, and rooms that open to water and sky. At Daybreak, the shores of Oquirrh Lake sit at the community’s heart. We saved this special land to create something equally special: Lake Village.
What is the Virtual Dream House?
To showcase the architecture and design possibilities in Lake Village, we partnered with four local designers and invited them to create their own virtual dream house. The series explores how to get the most out of building a new home—from understanding the process to making smart, thoughtful design choices that result in an amazing outcome.

How the 4‑Week Series Works
We’ll share excerpts here on the Daybreak blog, with full posts on each designer’s site. The series begins today and continues with new content on Wednesdays for the next four weeks.
Inspiration Day at Daybreak
Before sketching a single line, the designers spent a day living the Daybreak lifestyle:
- Flying down zip lines in Brookside Park and dipping toes in the streams.
- Kayaking alongside ducks on Oquirrh Lake and taking in the views.
- Cruising the trails by bike to visit the shops and restaurants on SoDa Row.
- Meeting with Lake Village builders to begin “building” their virtual dream homes.
About Lake Village
Lake Village lies along the shores of Oquirrh Lake and embodies indoor‑outdoor living. Homes here blur the line between house and horizon with porches, breezeways, and windows that frame sunrise and sunset. Explore more villages and districts across Daybreak here.
