What's Happening

Every community needs a place to relax and connect. A space that organically brings friends and strangers together. Founded upon the belief that good food and a friendly smile can be a powerful force in fostering the spirit of community. A place that draws people in and is the center of it all. A place that is perfectly situated along the brand-new bicycle highway, known as the Loop, connecting upper and lower Daybreak. What do you name a place that does all of this? It’s the Hub.
The Hub — a combination pool, community garden, neighborhood café and community information station—will be a key destination for visitors and residents alike.

The Hub will open in a few weeks at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Holly Springs Road in Upper Daybreak, adjacent to the Highland Park Model Homes. But before we open we wanted to share details about the new café coming to the neighborhood.

Biscotts Café

Biscotts, a pastry and chai house, modeled after the chai houses in London where chai and tea are served along fresh baked pastries and sandwiches. Owned and operated by Lavanya Mahate, Biscotts will offer customers a global mix of savory and sweet flavors.

Lavanya is no stranger to the foodie scene. She is the owner of Saffron Valley, Biscotts and Dhayna Spices.

  • Saffron Valley: Locations in South Jordan, the Avenues and opening this summer in Sugar House.
  • Dhanya Spices & Groceries an Indian Marketplace located in South Jordan.
  • Biscotts: Two South Jordan locations including the brand-new Daybreak location.

“We designed the Daybreak Biscotts’ location to be a hub for conversation, good eats and good times,” says Lavanya. “Our menu reflects global tastes and includes healthy choices and some indulgent ones while maintaining a high degree of authenticity and regard for fresh ingredients and cooking techniques.”
The menu options are handheld and are quick to eat. Simple yet delicious foods.  It’s adjacent to the new community pool and will have a service window, which is perfect for grabbing a treat for the kids while you are at the pool. See the menu.

Initially, Biscotts provides a place for hungry home shoppers to grab a bite to eat while they are out looking for a home. But it is also a great place in the neighborhood for impromptu meetups with friends and neighbors.
Biscotts is now hiring for part-time and full-time positions at the café. It is the perfect employment opportunity for Daybreak residents who want to work close to home and have flexibility. Apply here.
