Where should we go for dinner? That simple question sparked the inspiration for a new restaurant opening at SoDa Row.
Chef Jen Gilroy, well known for her award-winning Salt Lake City restaurant Meditrina, recently moved to the suburbs and quickly realized that she missed the food scene that flourishes in downtown Salt Lake City–so she’s setting out to change that and Daybreak is the perfect spot. Porch, a farm-to-table restaurant with Southern charm is expected to open at SoDa Row in late May and will be on the corner of Kestrel Rise Rd. and Daybreak Rim Way.
porch logoPorch will compliment Daybreak’s offering at SoDa Row with outdoor patio seating, a variety of menu options that are locally sourced and offer a fresh twist on Southern comfort foods like a pimento cheese sandwich or meatloaf balls.  Creative recipes and interpretations of traditional favorites are what Chef Jen is known for.

Meatloaf balls will be on the menu at Porch and received rave reviews at a recent tasting.

Chef Jen describes Porch as an upscale casual restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Foodies will love the variety of scratch-made items on the menu including the southern fried chicken that is seasoned to perfection in a sweet tea brine, caramelized onion cheddar grits or spiked watermelon slaw. Don’t forget to try out the mac & cheese when you stop in!
