Daybreak is becoming a hub for entrepreneurs, small businesses and even global corporations. With more than 1.7 million square feet of commercial development completed there is an estimated 1,400+ employees working at various companies in our community. As commercial development continues to occur, especially along Mountain View Corridor, these figures will increase substantially. To highlight the growing list of businesses that call Daybreak home, we are starting a new blog series “Made in Daybreak”. We hope you will enjoy getting to know the locals.
Biscotts Bakery & Café
After helping other business owners start their businesses, Lavanya Mahate was inspired to start her own business highlighting her passion for food. You may recognize Lavanya from her line of Indian spices and her first restaurant Saffron Valley. And now, Lavanya has expanded her foodie empire by adding a Biscotts Bakery & Café location in Daybreak.
Modeled after the chai houses in London, Biscotts serves sandwiches, smoothies, desserts and several varieties of the best chai tea you’ve ever tasted. And if you are a coffee lover, our barista’s serve Blue Copper Coffee. You can even order catering for special events.
A fun aspect of the location in Daybreak is the community garden adjacent to the café. In the summer months Lavanya incorporates fresh herbs and vegetables into the menu. Now that’s fresh!
Lavanya also recently won a Pathfinder award from the Salt Lake Chamber. Get to know her passion!
