Looking good, Daybreak.
When Daybreak residents need an expert manicure, massage or haircut, all they need to do is take a quick walk or jog over to Nine Salon & Spa. (Of course they can bike too, but who wants to come home with helmet hair?)
Open since March 2010, Nine Salon & Spa welcomes its clients with a contemporary, but comfortable, vibe. An exceptional atmosphere was precisely the goal of Rachel Downward, Salon Director, and her in-laws, who own the salon. “When I first saw Daybreak, I thought it was cool. The architecture, the upscale urban feel. Kind of like a West Side version of Park City.” Rachel had worked at a day spa there for a few years and wanted to bring a similar level of professionalism and care for her Nine Salon clients.
And indeed, there are plenty of ways to feel thoroughly pampered. Manicures and pedicures. Facials. Massages. And lest anyone think pampering and men don’t belong in the same sentence, Nine Salon’s men’s haircuts include a “vigorous shampoo, calming massage of the face and neck, a cleanse and a hot towel facial,” says Rachel. “Men love it.” Massage is also a gender-spanning treat, enjoyed alone or in couples, and customized with healing essential oils.
Product is yet another feel-good factor at Nine Salon. Their Pureology line is organic and vegan, and the Aquage line includes sea botanicals such as kelp, seaweed and natural sea salts. “Our products and processes are very eco-friendly, a lot like Daybreak,” says Rachel.
Eco-friendly is right. With Nine Salon & Spa right in the neighborhood, Daybreak residents spend a lot less time behind the wheel. If a bit more time in front of the mirror.
Nine Salon & Spa is open Monday-Thursday from 10am-7pm and Friday-Saturday from 9am-6pm.
