What's Happening

The holidays are synonymous with entertaining and there is nothing like opening your brand-new Daybreak home to your nearest and dearest friends and family. To help you get the party started, we have gathered a few tips to help you prepare the perfect holiday soiree.

Pick a theme
Decide whether you are going to throw a formal or informal get-together. Sometimes less is more, so don’t stress out thinking you need to go overboard the first time you host a party.  Goodhousekeeping.com recently shared a variety of holiday party themes to help you deck the halls, get inspired here.
Keep it Simple
Your first holiday party isn’t the time to try and be Martha Stewart. We suggest you only make easy, impressive food. Or better yet, order tasty treats ahead of time from one of the local businesses in Daybreak.

Tio’s Mexican Restaurant: During the month of December you can order chicken and beef tamales. One dozen for only $20. Call them at 801.285.7300 or stop by to order.

Swirly Girls Gourmet Bakery: Choose from a variety of sweet or savory holiday platters. See the menu, here. Swirly Girls also offers delivery within Daybreak or curbside service.

Biscotts Bakery & Café: Whether you are hosting a breakfast, lunch or dinner party Biscotts can help. They offer an extensive catering menu featuring homemade pastries, savory sandwiches and even chicken tikka masala.

And remember presentation is everything. Pick-up festive serving dishes to place the food on instead of the catering containers.  Nobody needs to know you didn’t spend the whole day cooking.
Parting Gift
Always send guests home with a thoughtful parting gift. Nest Boutique located on SoDa Row has a variety of small gifts like yummy scented candles and lotions, kitchen knickknacks or decorative surprises. Shop their $25 and under section online.

Follow the steps above for a simple and memorable holiday party. And if you don’t feel like hosting a party in your home—Porch Restaurant will open be open on New Year’s Eve offering a limited 3-course meal. Call the restaurant for more details at 801.679.1066.
