What's Happening

At Daybreak, we pretty much live by the five-minute rule. That means that wherever you are in the community, you are always just about five minutes away from a Daybreak amenity. If you know us, you know that we take play pretty seriously. Daybreak is a community built around the idea of health and well-being, so whether you’re aged five or ninety-five, we’ve got your outdoor recreation cravings covered. These spaces not only provide a beautiful backdrop for residents to enjoy, but they also serve as a hub for socialization and community building. From adults forming new friendships to children discovering the joys of outdoor play, parks are an integral part of the fabric of Daybreak.

Speaking of parks, have you heard about the new Playhouse Park? Step right up, young adventurers! Behold the magical park, specially crafted for our littlest Daybreak explorers. This imagination destination features a variety of play structures that have been conjured up to help grow the senses and make kiddos feel like they’re frolicking in a mystical land. This equipment can be anything your little pal can dream of, but most importantly it’s a safe haven where they can unleash their curiosity and explore the wonders of the world around them.

The land of Playhouse Park is a sandy utopia surrounded by rolling slopes and towering trees, perfect for growing your sense of curiosity! Inside this little oasis, the possibilities for fun are endless, with sensory activities, group games, and free-play galore. Young adventurers can explore the Earthscape Junior Tower with its thrilling slide, while the log climbing structure with monkey rings offers a challenge for the more experienced ones. Swings for all ages abound, from basket/group swings to toddler/baby swings and even regular swings for the biggest kiddos.

But listen up, folks, this park isn’t just for the little ones. Playhouse Park (and just about every Daybreak park) has benefits for explorers of all ages. For kids, spending time in nature helps them develop creativity, curiosity, and imagination. It also encourages them to be more active and can improve their attention span and overall development. As for adults, being in nature has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. The outdoors provide a sense of calm and relaxation that can be hard to find in our busy lives. Being outside also gives us a chance to disconnect from technology and connect with the present moment.

Whether it’s taking a hike, going for a bike ride, or simply sitting in a park watching the birds fly by and enjoying the sunshine, spending time in nature is a great way to improve our mental health and well-being—and Playhouse Park can provide a little moment of peace for everybody. For grown-ups, we’ve included picnic tables overlooking the playground and benches along the paths near all play areas, so you can keep a watchful eye on your little explorers while you yourself enjoy a moment of zen. Open to all Daybreak residents and their guests—and especially the residents of Cascade Village—this little slice of paradise is yours to roam daily from sunup to sundown.

Did we mention the open lawn area? It’s the perfect place for families to spend a sunny day outside, connecting, relaxing, and exploring together. That’s what we mean when we say that Daybreak parks are not only beautiful, but they also serve as a functional hub for the community—one where people can come together, meet new people, enjoy the outdoors, and possibly even spot some of the furry and feathered wildlife that also share our home. So what are you waiting for? Pack a picnic (and sunscreen!) and come check out Playhouse Park is now open and your kids, and whole family, will love it.
