Summer in Daybreak: Explore Pools, Parks, Trails & Life on the Water
Written By: Elizabeth Gray
Ready to plan the most memory‑filled summer yet? Great. Because Daybreak makes it easy—with community pools, 50+ miles of trails, 40+ parks, and two signature water amenities: Oquirrh Lake and The Watercourse. Below is your quick‑start guide to 2025 hours, access and must‑try activities.
50+ miles of trails | 48+ parks | 67+ acre Oquirrh Lake | Mile‑long Watercourse

Oquirrh Lake: Rentals, Permits & Duffy Boat
Watercraft rentals (Beach Club)
From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, residents can check out kayaks, canoes and stand‑up paddleboards for 1.5‑hour sessions on a first‑come basis at the Beach Club.
- Show mobile access in the Kisi app at checkout
- Resident captain must be 14+; guests accompany an adult resident
- Limited season hours follow daylight and vary in September
Duffy Boat rides & private cruises
Free resident rides typically depart about every 30 minutes during the main season. In addition, private reservations are available Monday–Thursday in set time slots.
Details change by season—confirm on the HOA’s Oquirrh Lake page.
Personal watercraft permits
Prefer to bring your own kayak or SUP? Grab a $12 annual resident permit through RecDesk each spring, then launch from designated locations.
Safety note: Swimming/wading beyond knee depth is not allowed outside of HOA‑approved programs.
The Watercourse: 2025 Status
Good news—The Watercourse opened for paddling in 2024 and continues to evolve as a mile‑long blueway with waterside trails, parks and gathering spots around the Cove. However, for the 2025 season, the HOA notes that Boat House rentals are closed. In the meantime, residents may use personal, non‑motorized craft with a resident permit where allowed. As always, check the HOA page for current launch locations and rules before you go.
Plan your visit: See the HOA’s Watercourse page for the latest status.

Parks, Courts & Pavilions
Craving grass‑between‑your‑toes time? With 40+ parks, you’re never far from a shady picnic spot or a game‑ready field. Meanwhile, you’ll find basketball, tennis and pickleball courts throughout the community. Planning an event? Reserve a pavilion online.

Daybreak Community Center (DCC)
Finally, when you want to mix in a little cross‑training, the DCC offers a fitness center, gymnasium (basketball/volleyball) and indoor track—free for residents. For a fee, add group fitness, personal training, swim lessons or room rentals.
How to Access Amenities (2025)
- Create or confirm your RecDesk account (owners and eligible tenants).
- Get mobile access via the Kisi app (accepted as ID at pools and the lake). Physical cards are optional.
- Bring a guest? Purchase same‑day guest passes in person at a qualifying amenity (limits and pricing vary by season).
See the HOA’s Amenity Registration & Access page for current steps and pricing.

Pools in Daybreak
First things first: pools. Each neighborhood pool has its own vibe—from lap swim to splash‑happy family time. Meanwhile, the Daybreak Community Center (DCC) adds a fitness center, gym and indoor track to round out your routine.
Community-wide pools
- Daybreak Community Center Pool (Founders Park)
- Eastlake Pool + Hot Tub (Eastlake Village)
- Brookside Pool (Creekside Village)
- Highland Park Pool (at The Hub)
- Splash Pool (Founders Park)
Note: Garden Park (55+) and SpringHouse Village (55+) have village‑specific pools.
Season & schedules
Generally open Memorial Day weekend–Labor Day weekend. Specific lap swim/open plunge times vary by location and season.
Before you go: Check the current day‑by‑day schedule on the HOA’s Pools page.
Trails, Open Space & The Loop
Next, lace up. Daybreak’s trail network now spans 50+ miles, connecting parks, village centers and schools. In the Upper Villages, The Loop functions like a bicycle highway—so you can cover long distances with fewer street crossings. And for riders of all levels, The Spoke bike park layers in pump‑track fun along the route.

LiveDAYBREAK Events
Beyond everyday amenities, LiveDAYBREAK programs concerts, classes and a summertime farmers market. Therefore, be sure to peek at the calendar so you don’t miss what’s coming up next.
