The Watercourse is underway in Daybreak’s Upper Villages. This connected series of channels and ponds will add miles of shoreline paths, overlooks, and parks—another step in Daybreak’s long‑term plan to put nature close to home.
Learn about the Watercourse concept
What’s happening on site
Earthwork & grading
Crews are shaping basins and channel alignments. Expect periodic truck traffic and temporary dirt stockpiles while we form the shoreline.
Utilities & crossings
Contractors are installing underground utilities and preparing locations for pedestrian bridges and street crossings that will knit trails together.
Shoreline detailing
After grading, teams will begin edge treatments, native plantings, and irrigation. These steps happen in phases to allow areas to establish before opening.
Trail connections
New multi‑use paths will link the Watercourse to neighborhood parks, future overlooks, and model‑home areas in the Upper Villages.
Reminder: This is an active construction zone. For your safety, please stay out of fenced areas and obey posted detours.
Timeline & what opens when
The Watercourse is a multi‑phase amenity. Portions will open as they are completed and established, while other segments continue construction. Landscaping requires a grow‑in period; therefore, some areas may look “finished” before they’re ready for public access.
- Early phases: Grading, utility work, and initial shoreline shaping.
- Mid phases: Bridges, path paving, overlook structures, and planting.
- Final touches: Signage, railings, furnishings, and safety inspections.
