What's Happening

Empty‑nesters Rich and Toni Kener made a bold move: they sold their home on the 18th tee at Willow Creek Country Club and chose Garden Park Daybreak 55+ living in South Jordan. After one visit to Daybreak—and especially to Garden Park, the low‑maintenance village for people 55+—they knew it was right.

Less Yard Work, Same Quality

The Keners picked a Patio Home with no stairs and a small, private yard. Now, yard work “averages three weeds a week,” Rich jokes. Yet they didn’t trade away quality to get convenience. Their home’s European styling and architectural detail impressed them from day one.

They also enjoyed building with Ivory Homes, which offers a wide range of Garden Park choices—from condominiums to impressive Estate Homes.

Everyday Perks, Steps from the Door

You don’t give up anything when you move to Garden Park. The private Garden Club—just for Garden Park residents—sits a block and a half from the Keners’ door and will open next summer with a swimming pool, fitness facility, and meeting rooms.

Walk a block and a half the other way to SoDa Row Village Center. Boutiques, restaurants, a salon, a dry cleaner, and everyday services make quick errands—and spur‑of‑the‑moment dinners—easy.

Close to Care and TRAX

The University of Utah Health Center is under construction nearby, and the Mid‑Jordan TRAX line begins service next August. For schedules and maps, visit UTA. If you like to garden, you can even look out on the community garden right from the Keners’ window.

What Really Sold Them: Community

The Keners use Daybreak’s extensive trail system daily. They love the scenery; walks feel easy and fun. Grandkids beg to visit, especially to ride the paddle boats on the lake. And as their Eastside friends tour Garden Park, more of them start to imagine the same move.

“We found other places we could have lived. But they weren’t comparable to Garden Park. Not even close. They weren’t a community.” — Rich
