What's Happening

A big front porch encourages conversation, strengthens neighborliness and, frankly, looks far better than a garage. That’s why almost every home in Daybreak includes one. In Spring 2020, neighbors and local photographers channeled that spirit into the Front Porch Project—quick, joyful photos taken from a safe distance, right on your own steps.

About the project

Several Daybreak photographers volunteered to capture front‑porch portraits—no wardrobe stress, just your people as they are. Sessions were quick and contact‑free so families could wave from the porch while photographers shot from the sidewalk.

“This isn’t a buy new outfits, stress‑out type of picture. It’s exactly as you are.” — Liz Williams of Lizzography

How to participate

  1. Step outside: Gather on your porch with whoever you’re staying home with—pets included.
  2. Keep your distance: Photographers shoot from a safe distance using long lenses.
  3. Share the joy: Post your favorite shots and tag your photographer and community hashtags.
