What's Happening

On July 27, 2010, University of Utah Health Care will break ground on the South Jordan Health Center in Daybreak—an important step that expands care for South Valley residents.

What’s Planned

First, the project launches as the initial phase of a larger medical campus totaling 208,000 square feet. It will bring a wide range of University of Utah Health services closer to home.

  • Specialty care: Cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, optometry, orthopedics, physical therapy, psychiatry, radiology, same‑day surgery, and ENT services.
  • Primary care: Family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics.
  • Emergency care: A 24/7 emergency department for round‑the‑clock access.
  • Pharmacy: An on‑site outpatient pharmacy for convenient prescription pickup.

Temporary Clinic for Immediate Access

Meanwhile, to serve patients during construction, a temporary clinic will open in late August 2010 next to the SoDa Row Village Center. It will offer primary care plus specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, ENT, infertility, plastics, gastroenterology, nephrology, and physical medicine & rehabilitation. In addition, the team expects to complete the permanent facility in fall 2011.

Location & Transit

Next, the South Jordan Health Center anchors Daybreak’s South Station Village, directly by the South TRAX Station—the first of two planned TRAX stations in Daybreak. Staff and patients can ride TRAX from the main University campus straight to Daybreak and then walk across the street to the clinic.
