A new way to access and enjoy Oquirrh lake will soon be coming to SoDa Row. A permanent storage facility for the HOA’s fleet of boats and stand up paddle boards (SUPs) has been a long time in the making. Harbor master Bill Dean and his crew have operated out of temporary shipping container storage units at the boat ramp for many years, and their facility is about to get a new location with a major upgrade. The Beach Club at SoDa Row will be the new permanent spot where residents can check out a canoe, kayak, sail boat or SUP and launch it from a brand new zero entry sandy beach.
Most of the underutilized docks will be removed and the shoreline reshaped with new sand being added to create an all new experience in this location. This new amenity is being created in conjunction with the new Marina View townhomes by Ivory Homes being constructed on the north side of the Harbor directly across the street from the Rio Tinto Regional Center at Kestrel Rise Rd. and Daybreak Parkway.
In addition to the new beach and boathouse, an observation deck complete with various seating areas will be added at street level creating a great spot to relax and take in the views and the gentle breezes off the lake. We thought you might want a spot to take a break if you’re walking off dinner or Rockwell Ice cream after a visit to SoDa Row (you’re welcome).
Construction is set to begin over the winter and be completed in the summer of 2020 (weather permitting). To launch their own portable watercraft, residents will also be able to utilize a new ramp that will be installed at the boathouse to get down to the water from the street above.
We’ll see you on the lake in 2020—bring your sunscreen.
