A tasty return on your investment.

Community gardening is big in Daybreak. Like state-fair-champion-pumpkin big. We now have five gardens in various places around the community with over 250 individual garden plots. And we’re planning for more.

If you’ve never been a community gardener, get ready for a rewarding experience. We have residents who grow buckets of fresh salsa and gallons of spaghetti sauce. We know of kids who began eating more vegetables when they helped to grow them. And of course nothing tastes better than a just-picked snap pea or cherry tomato.

There’s one other aspect of community gardening that you can’t get from a grocery store: the friendly barter. Need some cilantro? Pay for it with a couple of plump eggplants. It’s like a huge neighborhood veggie co-op. Yum.
