TOD sees early success.
It wasn’t too surprising when, just a few months after construction began on the light rail platforms in Daybreak, an anchor tenant signed up for the community’s first transit-oriented district. University Health Care selected the area next to Daybreak’s South Station for a 50-acre medical campus.
The first phase, a 210,000-square-foot, multi-specialty clinic, is planned to open in 2011. The medical campus will draw people — both patients and staff — from all over the southwest valley to Daybreak. So it’s only accelerating a transit-oriented development that was already coming down the tracks. But don’t worry. You still have time to get on-board.
